Bali Getaway: Ubud, Kintamani, Uluwatu, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan

This was really an instant trip, I bought the flight tickets during office hour on Friday afternoon for an early morning flight on the next day. I decided to have a getaway for 6 days in Bali, I thought this as a recovery trip after typhus.

Initially, I just wanted to relax in Ubud and wander around some beaches. But then I got idea to make hotel reservation for the third day at Nusa Lembongan Island, I planned to also explore Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida during my stay there. I got nice place to stay, thank God I picked Purinusa Bungalow with amazing beach view from in front of the swimming pool and restaurant. And the sunset view was killer, trust me!

On Monday morning I was dropped at Sanur Beach to departure to Lembongan by speed boat. There were so many express boat operators so I was a bit picky to find the cheapest one. I got IDR 170,000 for return trips. But actually the port - - Mushroom Bay- - was a bit far from Purinusa Bungalow so that I should take motorbike taxi to the Bungalow. Next time if I would stay again at Purinusa, I must select boat that heads to Jungut Batu Port. Yeah, there are some ports at Nusa Lembongan Island.

I was disappointed I could not go to Nusa Penida because they didn't have regular public boat schedule and the private boat was really expensive if I should go by myself. Well, maybe next time :)

Don't skip the snorkeling trip, moreover the chance to see manta fish around Manta Bay. When I was waiting for the sunset lying on the chair in front of the bungalow, the reception guy offered me the package for the next morning's trip and I instantly agreed to join with price IDR 200,000 for 4 snorkeling spots including the gears.

Ahh..another thing which was stupid, I so remembered to put my underwater camera into my bag but I didn't remember about the battery!!! Perfect, wasn't it? I missed the chance to have pictures of that hugh manta fish and beautiful underwater scenery around Crystal Bay.

If you want to stay at Lembongan, make sure to buy return boat tickets because it would be more efficient, and rent a motorbike to go around Lembongan and Ceningan.

Activities that we can do at Lembongan:
- Mangrove canoeing or just for sightseeing
- Dream Beach
- Devil's Tears - see below video
- Surfing
- Gala-gala Underground House - ticket IDR 10,000

At Ceningan:
- Blue Lagoon - Cliff Jumping
- Panorama

Before I went to Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan, I stayed in Ubud at a friend's place. From the airport I straightly went to Toya Devasya (hotspring) and a waterfall in Kintamani area, around Mount Batur. My friend and her colleagues already soaked in the hotspring when I arrived.

The second day, we went exploring the beaches around Uluwatu.

Note: I took pictures from my 14MP smartphone's camera

The captain of the snorkeling trip rushed us to jump into the water because according to him the mantas would hurriedly go away when there were more people coming. I was so hesitant seeing the strong waves but then I couldn't just stare the mantas disappear and bravely jumped. Lol, it was soooo crazy going against the wave, I wished I had been stronger than those guys fighting the waves and seeing mantas closely. Other ladies were just staring at their guys jumping from the boat rushing to mantas, scared of the waves. Me, the only girl that finally jumped! I finally saw one huge manta! He saw me too, I was so sure, because it came closer to me and I was saying to myself "Man...it won't bite me, right?" Lol. Too bad my AW130 was without battery that I couldn't take any #underwater picture during the snorkeling trip. #NusaPenida #beachweek #Bali #BaliGetaway #solotrip #MantaBay
